How to make correction in Voter ID Card

Form No. 08 is a very important form for the whole electoral process. This form helps the voter to correct the mistakes made while filling Election Card Forms i.e the mistakes in electoral details of the voter.

Any kind of mistake in your electoral details is the last thing you would want if your intention is to cast a vote and make your opinion count for the betterment of your constituency or more importantly, your nation. Imagine you went to the polling booth and BLO(Booth Level Officer) did not allow you to exercise your franchise because of the discrepancy in the credentials you provided for the voters’ list did not match with the credentials provided in the identity card you presented.

Such a situation would surely be a let down for the voter and the patriot inside you. Hence such blunders(mistakes in the Voter ID Card details) must be rectified as soon as they are brought to notice, by filling the Form No. 08.

Form No. 8 is used to make correction in-

• Correction in names.
• Correction in addresses.
• Mismatched Photograph on EPIC
• Correction in Father Name
• Correction Spouse(husband/wife) Name
• Correction in DOB
• Correction in voting area(part no. etc) 

Required Documents to make correction in relative mistakes:

DOB Proof-

 Adhar card/ Secondary School certificate/ Makrsheet/ Birth Certificate/   Pan    Card/Passport/DLC/Office ID etc. 

Address Proof- 

 Adhar Card/ Ration Card/Bonafied Certificate(Mool Nivas Parman Patra)/Passport/DLC/Electricity Bill/Teliphone Bill/Water Bill etc.

Name Change-

 Pan Card/Adhar Card/passport/Marksheet/10th Board Certificate/Ration Card etc. 

Spouse Name Change- 

  Marriage certificate/Adhar card/Govt. Id etc.
